Association of Teaching Artists  A non-profit professional organization whose mission is to strengthen and serve Teaching Artists from all disciplines in NY State.

Capital Region Center for Arts in Education  The Capital Region Center for Arts in Education (The Center for AIE) is a dynamic partnership of educators and artists designed to bring art-centered learning to young people in elementary, middle and high schools.

Country Dance & Song Society     (CDSS) is an association of people and groups with a common interest in English and Anglo-American folk dance, music and song. Their sales department has a huge selection of  books and recordings for musicians and community dance leaders, and for people who just enjoy listening to the music.

David Kaynor  One of the best callers and most danceable fiddlers in the country, he was one of my calling mentors in the mid-1980's.  David is the caller and primary organizer of the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Friday contra dances at the Guiding Star Grange Hall in Greenfield, Massachusetts. He is one of the few callers who can also fiddle while he calls.  And he works extremely well with beginning dancers.

John Kirk & Trish Miller  They live near Saratoga Springs, NY and travel far and wide to teach and perform traditional music and dance: lively fiddle tunes together with fancy footwork and folksongs in concert or dance. 

Liberty Ridge Farm  Overlooking the Hudson River, located at 29 Bevis Road (off Stillwater Bridge Road), Schaghticoke (Rensselaer County), NY.  The recently built Dutch style barn is a beautiful space for a celebration any time of the year. The Barn’s interior has a classic rustic charm and its grand wrap-around deck extends the party area.

Lloyd Shaw Foundation  Dedicated to the preservation, restoration and teaching of the folk dances of America. Their sales department has a nice selection of  books and recordings for musicians and community dance leaders.

Mabee Farm  Route 5S, Rotterdam Junction, NY, on the banks of the Mohawk River.   A great site for weddings and receptions, birthdays and anniversaries, family picnics and reunions. The extensive grounds include a 52' x 54' Dutch barn built in the 1760's.

Marian Rose's Community Dance Project  A teacher of community dance to children with great book/CD resources. 

New England Dancing Masters  (NEDM) produces great books and recordings of traditional social dances and singing games from North America and the British Isles. 

New York State Association for Arts Education (NYSAAE) A state-wide non-profit service organization, NYSAAE is dedicated to ensuring that the arts become an integral part of every person's education in New York State.

Old Songs   In the Albany, NY area:  Traditional music & dance information for local concerts, lessons, dance, links. The Old Songs festival held the last weekend in June is one of the best folk festivals in North America.  

Pickin' and Singin' Gatherin'  Albany, NY area group dedicated to traditional music and song.
